Post Birkie Joy!

Here's a shot of Frank, Greg and Kathie lounging around joyously at the end of the Birkie. You can tell everyone skied well because those smiles go from ear to ear (or maybe they're just celebrating the fact that they look so frickin' good in their CyclovaXC gear!).

I don't know about the rest of you, but I had a hell of a time finding that changing area. At the end of the race I was just standing around with a dazed look on my face and a woman came up to me and said, "it's over there," before I even had time to formulate a question (I suppose I wasn't the only one standing around with a dazed look on my face). One thing I do have to say though, is I don't think I've had to take off my own skis at one event this year. Chip timing is great in that for some ridiculous reason, everybody wants you to return the chips that are issued (at Grandma's they let you keep your chip for ever and ever). But really, I'm thankful that they want the chips back (even though they threaten you with a $100 penalty if you don't return them) because it means somebody has to bend over and unclip your skis (well, they don't HAVE to, it's one of those "while you're down there" moments which are...of course...my favorite kinds of moments:).

But getting back to other thoughts, would the family members of other CyclovaXC skiers who dug up some great images PLEASE send them along? We'll be clutching desperately to the ski season for at least another two weeks (until we get things really rolling with our bike kits).

Cheers!
