VIDEOS: Canadian Men's Team Win at the 2011 Holmenkollen WC Team Sprint Relay

The Canadian men use experience, fitness, and audacity to win the 2011 World Championships Sprint Relay !

The Canadian Men team's win at the recent 2011 was dominant and even audacious in some ways - but that is what it takes to win at the highest level.

This teams performance goes to show that intense perseverance is required to achieve excellence in sport.  You see, Devon Kershaw, Canada's lead off skier in this race had a ski fall off at the beginning of his lead off leg in their semi-final heat.  It isn't exactly clear what caused this, but the bottom line is that his ski became unattached to his boot shortly after the start and he was suddenly in last place.

Due to the thick fog (which you'll see in the above video), nobody knew what happened to him - he had simply disappeared.  In reality, he scrambled back to get his ski, and in an amazing performance skied back up to the lead group!  They finished the semi-final heat in the lead group and advanced to the next round.  In the end as you can see in the above video, it came down to a sprint between Canada and Norway, with Canada surging late and taking the win!

This Canadian World Championship win adds to what has already been the best season for North American XC Ski results in decades - and there are still quite a few events to go!

A brief post race interview with the Harvey and Kershaw, as well as a few race highlights...
