|The finish area of the 2012 Badger State Games|
Well, it looked kind of bad on Monday and Tuesday with temperatures in the 40s and rain coming down to leave massive puddles on the streets, but a cold front and further precipitation (in the form of snow), has conditions ready to go in Wausau!
Badger State Games is one of the best events the region has to offer. The course is challenging but there are no horrible hills, so this is a great 42k (there are also several other race distances to choose from) to polish off your fitness in the weeks leading up to the Birkie. This is also one of the least expensive marathons around (you can register today for $60).
Tomorrow is going to be on the cold side, but at least the forecast isn't calling for -10! Last year the temps hit around 40 and we had standing water in the parking lot as we pulled out (but the race went on without a hitch). Actually, there was some confusion last year as people didn't realize they were supposed to do a third lap, so keep your eyes peeled for course indications tomorrow!
Hope to see you all in Wausau tomorrow!
